The cabbie abandoned his vehicle and tried to flee — but was soon arrested, according to local press reports.

Moscow cops said their initial investigation found the driver likely lost control — and probably had not targeted the crowd on Ilinka street, about 650 feet from Red Square.

He also is suspected of having had too much to drink, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.

Some of the victims were wearing Mexican team colors.

The driver had a license issued by Kyrgyzstan.

The severity of the injuries was not immediately known.
